Authors Note: First few chapters are kind of short - I was fighting my muse for words at the time. They get a little longer as the fic moves on. The song lyrics that are spread throughout the chapter are from Hard to Know by Mindy Smith. Looking back I kind of cringe at the thought of using lyrics like that, but it feels weird taking them out now. *shrug* Just ignore 'em if they bug ya'.

Authors Note: So a few years ago I became COMPLETELY OBSESSED with Pitch Black and the Chronicles of Riddick fandom and what resulted was my one and only (finished) multi-chapter, quasi-decent work of fanfiction. I'm reposting it here since my PC files are currently inaccessible and the only other copy is filed away on Fanfiction.net. I wanted a copy here on my journal too, so here it is. It's not being posted anywhere else on LJ (mostly because the fandom died a quick death after TCOR came out and there aren't any active comm's left. Which I so called. Never should have killed off Jack. Way to piss off the fans, Twohy. Good thinkin' there.) so I'm not really looking for reviews or anything. (although reviews get you cookies... and much love from yours truly)

The fic itself is ten chapters long and since it would look incredibly odd to have the entire thing in one post, I've decided to post it chapter by chapter. And because I hate it when people spam my flist, I've decided to take pity on my own and post it a couple chapters at a time over the next few days.

Now on to a quick note about the story itself: It's basically an AU version of TCOR. Picks up after Dark Fury and although there are quite a few similarities at the beginning, it quickly turns into something entirely different. (i.e. something that avoids the whole Necromonger business and doesn't kill off everyone's favorite characters. I'm looking at you, Twohy.) So without further ado (I'm shutting up now, promise...) I present "Just Like You".

*waves sheepishly* So I guess it's been a while, huh? I haven't really been around LJ much for the last year - even the friends only part of this journal was only being added to once a month or so. I'd like to think that will change now that my life is starting to settle down a bit. I have a TON of icons on the hard drive of my PC that I've been meaning to post... the only thing is that my PC is currently in storage until I finally move into my new place (which could be a little while longer). I've been using my trusty MacBook for the last few months... but I only recently discovered the loveliness that is Gimp (an open source program kinda like Photoshop) so I've managed to crank out a few...

But here's the catch - my laptop is wonderful, but it's complete shite for trying to judge brightness and contrast in the icons I'm making. So if you see an icon that looks a little off, or a little dark, PLEASE let me know! I'd forever be in your debt... and I'd totally owe you a cookie :)
